Among a group of dogs transferred from the overcrowded Habersham County Animal Shelter in Georgia to The Little Guild in West Cornwall, Connecticut, there was one particular dog that stood out. While conversing with the Habersham County shelter manager, The Little Guild’s staff discovered that Jodi’s uniqueness had been recognized by everyone in Georgia.
Kelsey Turick, an employee at The Little Guild, stated that “Jodi held a special place in the hearts of the shelter staff and volunteers.” When the volunteers learned that Jodi was going to be taken in by The Little Guild and rehomed, they were moved to tears.
Jodi had spent seven years living with her family before being surrendered to the Georgia shelter. She was anxious and confused upon arriving at The Little Guild, and the staff who welcomed her could sense her bewilderment over not knowing where her family had gone.
“When Jodi first arrived,” Turick recalled, “[she] was really afraid and all [Jodi] wanted to do was go home.”
Jodi, a 7-year-old dog, is an exceptional companion. She is friendly with dogs, cats, and children. Jodi loves to lounge on the couch, go for walks, and even enjoys riding in the car. Since her arrival, Jodi has adjusted significantly to her new surroundings and developed relationships with both staff and volunteers. Jodi has grown to have confidence in her new companions, which has allowed her incredible personality to shine, endearing her to everyone even more.
According to Turick, Jodi has a fantastic demeanor and always seeks human company. She delights in playing fetch outside and snuggling up with you under a cozy blanket. Even though she’s older, Jodi still has plenty of energy and looks forward to daily walks. She is an extraordinary lady and holds a special place in our hearts.
It’s surprising that Jodi is still waiting for adoption, despite being an ideal match for almost any family. She loves spending time with her loved ones and gets along with children, cats, and other dogs. There has been some interest in adopting her, and a family is scheduled to meet her soon, so hopefully, she will find her forever home soon.
Jodi’s friends in both Georgia and Connecticut are all eagerly anticipating her perfect match.
