A kind-hearted person discovered two mother canines and their litters in a back alley in Los Angeles, California. They transported them to the Northwest Dog Project (NDP) after observing that the dogs were making efforts to protect their young ones.
Initially, the kind person took the dogs to their own residence before eventually bringing them to the Northwest Dog Project, located in Oregon.
The two mother dogs, along with their nine puppies (consisting of seven females and two males), were given the names Louise and Thelma.
It was apparent that the mothers had been left alone for a significant amount of time, as they were famished and undernourished. It is unclear whether they were abandoned as a pair or not, but what is certain is that they were doing their utmost to ensure the protection of their offspring.
Fortunately, the mother dogs are in good health. However, as of February 2019, their puppies were up for adoption, and it is uncertain whether all of them have found homes. If you are interested in adopting, information can be found on the NDP’s website.
