Compassionate Man Witnesses Dog Being Prepared for Meat Market Sale and Refuses to Turn a Blind Eye

This story revolves around Xingyi Danielle, a Singaporean who travelled to China to visit her father. Unfortunately, dog meat is a common delicacy in some parts of Asia, including China.

During their trip, they encountered a group of people selling live puppies, which are often bought for slaughter. Witnessing the cruel treatment of these innocent animals, Xingyi and her father decided to intervene. Despite being able to save only one dog, Xingyi’s father freed the dog and affectionately named him Doggo.

Due to his apartment’s no-pets policy, Doggo has been residing at his owner’s office. However, this is only a temporary arrangement, and he will relocate to a more suitable living situation once it becomes available. Nonetheless, the most significant thing is that Doggo was rescued from a grim fate.

Unfortunately, the Lychee and Dog Meat Festival, held in late June, involves the consumption of around 10,000 dogs and cats each year, according to the Huffington Post.

Tragically, many dogs are stolen from their homes and subjected to brutal violence, such as being beaten to death or skinned alive. However, there is a glimmer of hope in this dark reality. Thanks to widespread public outcry and condemnation, the sale of dog meat was prohibited this year, marking a significant step in the right direction in addressing this issue.
