A young woman attending college in Durham, North Carolina, harbored aspirations of owning a dog but was cognizant of the significant commitments and responsibilities required to care for one. Consequently, she opted to purchase a toy wolf from Toys-R-Us.
However, Karissa Lerch’s dream came true several years later when she was able to adopt an Alaskan Malamute puppy. She named the puppy Luca and introduced her to the old plush toy. Unexpectedly, the plush toy became Luca’s closest companion.
Lerch mentioned that Luca always brings her stuffed animal, Mr. Wolf, along wherever she goes. They even snuggle together in bed! Lerch found it strange that Luca ruined all the other stuffed animals she received, but when she met Mr. Wolf, everything changed. It’s so cute!
Distinctive care: Since her younger age, Luca has utilized many diverse playthings, such as ropes for tug-of-war, balls, and toys that squeak.
Handing over: When Karissa finally located Luca, she gave her the toy dog, which is now known as Mr. Wolf. The two bonded instantly and could not be separated.
Buddies for life: Luca, who is currently 18 months old, has wrecked all of her toys except for the miniature plush toy.
