Veterinarian Makes Shocking Discovery After Opening A Sick Cat’s Stomach

A team of veterinarians in South Carolina made an “astonishing” discovery while performing surgery on an ailing cat.

The Charleston Animal Society shared the cat’s story on Facebook, detailing how a kind-hearted person brought Juliet and two other felines to their facility.

Evidently, the owner of the cats relocated to another state and abandoned the felines, leaving them to fend for themselves outside.

Although Juliet initially appeared healthy when taken to the clinic, she stopped eating and became sluggish after a few weeks.

Further examinations revealed that she had a unique type of obstruction in her stomach that could be fatal if not extracted.

Dr. Jamison conducted a surgery on the cat to eliminate the “unbelievable blockage” and found something shocking: Juliet’s stomach was clogged with dozens of hair ties.

“I have never seen anything like it,” Dr. Jamison said. The team removed 38 hair ties from Juliet’s stomach.

Charleston Animal Society posted a video of the surgery, which you can watch here. During the surgery, the doctor pulled out what seemed like an endless string of hair ties.

Dr. Jamison from the Charleston Animal Society updated on Juliet’s condition and shared, “This blockage has led to a liver condition that we are closely monitoring.” Sadly, Juliet eventually passed away due to her condition, and the Charleston Animal Society posted a follow-up on Facebook, saying: “Despite receiving love and care in her last days, Juliet did not survive this unfortunate incident.” Everyone is deeply saddened.”
