Twin uncommon elephants have been born in an orphanage, marking the first instance in 80 years

In the realm of wildlife, extraordinary events can occur, and such a phenomenon transpired in Sri Lanka. Pandu, the father elephant, and Surangi, a 25-year-old female elephant residing at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, gave birth to a pair of male twin elephants.

This occurrence marks the first of its kind in 80 years, since the last recorded instance in 1941. Nevertheless, the mother elephant and her twin offspring are thriving, as stated by the head of the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, Renuka Bandaranaike.

Moreover, female elephants have an approximate 1% likelihood of giving birth to twins, despite their ability to produce offspring approximately 4 to 5 times throughout their lifespan. Such a spectacle is truly miraculous! See the video below.
